Erin Taylor grew up among the cornfields in Iowa, where she developed a passion for any and all styles of dance. She earned degrees in dance, voice, and business from the University of Iowa where she was exposed to the wonderful world of swing dancing. Erin stayed out late dancing several nights a week and traveled to many workshops, often causing her to head to class exhausted, yet inspired. Though she keeps busy performing in operas, ballets, modern concerts, feature stage shows, and touring shows, she has always found time to keep swing dancing a big part of her life. She has choreographed for many styles, from swing dance teams to show choirs, and musicals to modern dance companies. She has danced and choreographed with Step Into Swing’s Swing Cats (Des Moines) and the Flying LindyHawks (Iowa City) as well as sharing her love of dance by teaching swing to beginners around the state. In 2010, Erin joined the teaching staff at Nolte Academy in Coralville where she teaches many forms of dance (as well as voice) to students of all ages.
